In Dialogues of Old and New Sounds, Accademia del Piacere and Fahmi Alqhai explore the rich inter play between historical and contemporary musical voices. From Baroque dances and Monteverdi’s expressive madrigals to Flamenco rhythms and folk melodies that traveled across oceans, the program celebrates the meeting of tradition and improvisation, connecting centuries, cultures, and styles through the expressive power of the viola da gamba and its collaborators.
