From Al-Ándalus to Isfahán

The 15th and 16th centuries marked a Golden Age of music both in Spain and in Persia and Central Asia. Spanish Renaissance composers developed a distinctive polyphonic style, blending Franco-Flemish techniques with the rich cultural heritage of medieval Iberia, including Moorish and Muslim influences. Meanwhile, Persian and Ottoman courtsnurtured brilliant musicians whose works remain among the most refined in the Islamic world. From Seville to Isfahan brings these two musical worlds together. Fahmi Alqhai and his Accademia del Piacere join Kiya Tabassian and Constantinople to explore repertoires from Iberia, Persia, and Central Asia, creating a journey of vibrant color, virtuosity, and beauty.
